Activities & Events

This is your one-stop shop for all activities hosted during Bike Month in sunny Jacksonville, Florida. If you are organizing a bike-related activity, please email with information and we will add it to this page.

Various bike clubs, organizations, businesses, and city officials are organizing several activities and will be listing them on this site. We will continuously add to, and update, this list throughout the months prior. Brought to you mostly by the local bicycling community and brought to you in part by the Jacksonville Bicycle CoalitionZen Cog, the BPAC, and the Jacksonville Walking & Biking Advocates.

Social Rides and Cultural Events

All Month — Bike to Work – Whether or not this is organized by any entity is not an issue. Simply ride your bike to work… this month… or any other month. Or really whenever you wish ;)

All Month – Show your spirit!  Strap your bike racks onto your vehicles and keep them there all month (and maybe a bike-related bumper sticker or two). Let’s unite in solidarity with this one simple gesture and show all the Jax motorists that YOU’RE a cyclist and PROUD of it.

Don’t Art Walk, Art Bike – Don’t settle for driving, searching for a parking spot, and walking when you can ride your bike to Downtown Jacksonville’s monthly Art Walk event. Click on the link for tips.

BPAC Meeting – The City of Jacksonville’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee meets every first Thursday of the month to discuss regional bicycle and pedestrian planning issues. The public is always welcome to join and chime in.

Second Grade Bicycle Rodeo – By St. Mark’s Church. Contact the church for details.

FREE Community First Saturday Bike Tour – By e2Ride Bike Tours. Come see what is special about Springfield on the award winning e2Ride Bike Tours, 10:30am-1:30pm. Departs from Downtown. Reservations required. Call 904-945-1571 to reserve a spot. Bike Rentals Available for $35.  Jacksonville’s Car-Free Week – A personal motorized vehicle can be a costly dependence, both for our wallets and our environment. For one week in Bike Month, May 15 – 19, 2017 the Jacksonville Walking & Biking Advocates are encouraging you to try other options — for just one day, or all week! Our goal is to build awareness of the City’s walking and biking initiatives, and to recognize “active transit” riders like you at the Closing Awards Ceremony.

Jacksonville’s Car-Free Week Awards Ceremony – On Friday, May 19th, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm, Car-Free Week participants and guests can join us at Intuition Ale Works for our Awards Ceremony. The good folks at Intuition will be offering $1 off beers at the Ceremony AND all week — May 15-19 — to people who posted photos of themselves before their commute, during their commute, and after their commute on social media using the hashtag #CarFreeWeekJax.  The most impressive commuters, such as “longest commute”, “most enthusiastic”, or “most days participated” for example, are eligible to win other prizes. But in order to qualify for prizes, you will have to participate in the social media selfie posts. Come out and meet like-minded people for a night of camaraderie and recognition for a job well done!

National Bike to Work Day – RIDE BIKES to WORK… for a change. And yes, it can be realistic! If you are a bit of a novice when it comes to what I call “serious bike rides”, click on the link for tips and tricks.

Riverside Arts Market – Check out all the bikey-good vendors at RAM for your bike part, bike accessory, and bike advocacy needs. There will be bike tours and free bike parking at the weekly bike valet too! Just so ya know, the bike valet is always free and always there each Saturday (except on some rainy days) at RAM.

Bicycle Swap Meet at RAM – by JaxReCycle. Bicycle Swap meet is basically like a flea market or garage sale with a bicycle focus. People set up to sell and barter bicycle parts and bicycles. This is a good chance to sell off those parts you are not using or trade them for something better.

Meet ‘n’ Greet – SORBA Bike Club is having meet and greet at City Cycle in Riverside, May 22nd, 6-8pm. Contact SORBA for details –
